Dr. Daniel Smith is a native of East Syracuse, and a graduate of East Syracuse-Minoa High School. He attended Cornell University, where he received a B.A. in Biology. He also attended the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, in Chicago, Illinois, where he received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine, Magna Cum Laude. He completed his podiatric residency at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, Massachusetts, and returned home to Central New York to begin practicing in 2002.

Dr. Smith is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (ABPS). He is also Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine (ABPOPPM). He is on staff at Community General Hospital, St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, University Hospital, and Crouse Hospital, as well as several CNY surgical centers including Harrison Center.

Dr. Smith and his wife Kristen reside in Syracuse with their four children, Peter, Molly, Kevin and Brendan.
